Tufa Station - General Store

Tufa Station existed from 1897 - 1908, the brick ruins are situated South of the railbed of the SW Railway. On the North side of the railbed is the Tufa Stone Quarry. At one time Tufa Station had a postal code. The station and town sits below College Peak in the valley on the Western slope of the Southern Chiricahua Mountains. The area was first settled by West Texans, whom like the Apache before them, were fleeing the Comanche. Tufa Cemetery is located 1 mile NW of the property and rail station that once served the community.
